Gaurav - College Days And Beyond
Gaurav Dagaonkar is a singer, music composer and performer from Mumbai. A management graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he made news in 2006 for his unconventional decision to join the music industry instead of pursuing a career in the corporate world. Since then Gaurav has been performing with his band at several colleges and has also been signed up by Universal Music as an artiste. Gaurav’s debut album – “College Days”, which falls in the Hindi Pop/Rock category, has been produced by noted music producer Ranjit Barot in Mumbai and will be soon released in February on Universal Music.
While studying at IIM Ahmedabad, Gaurav performed at live shows throughout the city, which were received very enthusiastically by the audiences. His charming personality and high-energy performances on stage have always endeared him to every audience that he has performed for. Currently, Gaurav plays with a five-piece band that includes a lead and a bass guitarist, keyboard player and a drummer.
On 28th December 2007, Gaurav rocked the 6000-strong crowd at IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo, where he premiered his music video and also played songs from his album. Gaurav and his band also performed to the 8000-strong crowd at IIM Ahmedabad’s Annual Cultural Festival, Andaaz-e-Chaos, where he shared the stage with Silk Route and Pakistani band Junoon. He also performed at both the JAM CAT Concerts held in Mumbai (on November 19, 2006 & November 21, 2007) where he delivered a power packed performances to the 4000-strong crowd.
Apart from these, Gaurav and his band have been the headlining act at Expressions ’06 (HL College, Ahmedabad), Arcane Illusions ’07 (ITW, Mumbai), Yash 7.0 (YCCE Nagpur), Cutting Chai ’07 (National College, Mumbai), Paramarsh ’07 (M S University, Baroda), Tsunami ’07 (Lala Lajpatrai College, Mumbai), and Horizons ’07 (Pramukhswami Medical College, Anand). Gaurav and his band have also performed at corporate events for well known brands like Colgate MaxFresh, as well as various event management companies. Two of his songs, “Om Namah Shivaya” and “College Days” (both to be featured on the album) are quite popular at his shows. At college festivals, Gaurav and his band perform songs ranging from Indi-Pop, Sufi-Rock to the music of bands like U2, RHCP, Pearl Jam etc. along with songs from his up-coming album.

gaurav ur album is fabulous and outstanding i am not going to say .but the way u sing and the words are real and realted to each n every collegian.u express the real feel of student .and the song ‘aaj tu yaad aayi’ is mindblowing the video is ok but the words i have tosay each word is really come frm heart .one thing surprised me that iim student choose the rocking world but sure its ur dream to be a singer wish u the best for ur next album and congrats for this one………

Dude you rock i listened to your album on continuous mode for days the lyrics are cool . So when are we going to hit the bolly lanes or do you plan to add to the rock culture thats too scarce in country . Do tell me if your another album is due to release soon
I listened your album several times and i find it really worth listening again and again…..The best part it that you put it in totally original manner…..Apart from that one thing i’ll really admire is that you became what you really want to be ….my best wishes for your next album & bright future pal…..
